The Center for Addiction Recovery
The Center for Addiction Recovery, located in the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health and Georgia Southern University, makes resources available to students seeking to maintain their recovery lifestyle. The Center houses 12-step meetings, which are confidential and protect the anonymity of the students. Each meeting is fully self-supporting and is run by students who themselves are in recovery. By scheduling student activities and service events on the Georgia Southern University campus, the Center also strives to create a cohesive recovery community. One of the primary goals of the Center fo Addiction Recovery is to educate those who are seeking information on addiction including students, faculty and other members of the community. Another goal of the Center is to provide assistance to recovering students whose previous behaviors or academic records might otherwise prohibit their acceptance into the University.
