Fostering Addiction Recovery
The Dot and John Mooney Foundation - Fostering Addiction Recovery, Inc. is a 501-c-3 philantropic organization to promote addiction recovery.
Our heritage is helping people and their families who suffer from alcoholism and drug addiction find recovery.
Our partners are those who are committed to spreading awareness of the impact of addictive illness and the hope for recovery.
Our projects are diverse in objectives as well as geography. We have a meaningful local impact by helping guide those who need it to recovery, and our global work has spawned 12 step and abstinent recovery programs around the world.
Our primary activity in recent years has been to support the highly successful Center for Addiction Recovery on the campus of Georgia Southern University. WITH THE PENDING CONSOLIDATION OF GEORGIA SOUTHERN AND ARMSTRONG STATE UNIVERSITIES THE CENTER WILL EXPAND ITS ACTIVITIES TO SAVANNAH.
The Foundation has also maintained partnering relationships with Recovery Africa and others.
We have supported research activities of medical interns studying the field of addiction recovery and will provide support for doctoral students in public health who are doing dissertation research in this area.
